We look forward to hearing from you and displaying our visitors book soon.

Hey there! When I was a little girl that pub was my stomping grounds! My Uncle Jim Tinley owned it. I was just a wee lass, but I remember it like it was yesterday. We are coming over in July for my 50th birthday and can’t wait to come see the place again! I was born in Bury and am really looking forward to coming back. Haven’t been back since 77. I’m hoping you’ll honor me with a tour so that I can rekindle what I remember from my youth! See you in July 2013 for a cold one for sure! Coming over on the Queen Mary 2. Going to do my birthday and retirement in style this year! And your place is probably one of the first ones we’ll be coming to! Arriving July 13th. Can’t wait!!!!

Hi.. I was in bury today visiting the Christmas Faye and when passing the nutshell pub.. I saw the queue outside and looked again…it looks like the Border Morris Dancers have been waiting for years for a pint…. As there have blended in with the pub foliage… I think it makes for a funny photo..and I wanted to send it to you for you to share on your guest book.

I lived in Bury St Edmunds with my husband Phillip for 2 years and The Nutshell was our favorite place to go. We have many fond memories of our visits there especially Halloween and New Years. We are currently living in Cyprus but whenever we visit the UK, a trip to The Nutshell is always on our itinerary. Thank you for all the wonderful memories.

Earlier this year my wife and I spent a week in Bury. What a wonderful and historic village. One of our sons is stationed at a nearby Air Force base and we were in Bury for a visit with him. We discovered The Nutshell and it became our favorite pub. Definitely a one of a kind pub. Great people, excellent pints. We will go back in the near future. Shout out to Jack and crew.

Hi, What a wonderful website you have. Now we have to visit your pub! We are looking forward to touring the Bury St. Edmunds area around the 9th. or 10 of October 2011 and hopefully you will have room for a retired couple from Sidney, British Columbia, Canada.?
Please keep us a cool one on tap.
See you soon,

To my good Friends at the Nutshell! Jack, Nick, Paul, Jigger, Mark, Chad (et. Al). From June 2007 to July 2010, myself and two sons Samuel and Steven visited the pub almost every week. I cannot begin to tell you how much I enjoyed the Nutshell and how I miss it terribly! I just wanted to say hello, I hope you are all doing well and I will return one day. Tell Jack to email me!
Cheers Mates!

I have been to Bury St. Edmunds twice. On both occasions I have had the pleasure of having a few pints at the Nutshell. I’m already looking forward to a future pint in your fantastic pub!!
